My pets are messy eaters and drinkers and I have hardwood floors in the kitchen.
Living in south Texas, we don't have snow so I was unable to find boot trays in any stores down here.
It works perfectly as a pet placemat. If they spill water, the raised edges keep it from getting on the hardwood floors.

I was a little disappointed in the stiffness of the plastic. I had hoped for something a little more pliable. The stiff plastic slides around on the hardwood floor a bit, but other than that, it does it's job. Pine needles and raindrops are well contained in the 1" lip on the tray. -- Does it's job
